A Little About Me
I have always been a very active person growing up in Colorado and New Mexico. I worked for two Fortune 500 companies before I decided to empower myself to become a Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach. That was the best career move as I love what I do. I am honored to educate my clients on how to make positive and life-long changes inside and outside the gym, and I do so with the utmost commitment to their well-being.
I am certified through ACE (American Council on Exercise) and hold ACE Certifications in Functional Training, Senior Fitness Spcialist and Orthopedic Exercise. I am one of 6 in the State of NM that maintain certification in the BioMechanics Method ®. This prestigious certification has given me the tools and education to conduct assessments, and create an effective corrective exercise plan to help my clients who are living with muscle and joint pain.
Corporate Wellness
I offer onsite wellness programs to small and large corporations in the Albuquerque area that address the needs of today’s workforce. I believe that employees who have the opportunity to have access to fitness programs that focus on better posture, pain reduction, and reduced absenteeism are vital to a positive workforce culture. Some of the programs I offer include Lunch-n-learn lectures, on-going group classes, fitness challenges and more. (Please call for prices).
How I Train
My goal is to help my clients move more efficiently, become stronger, more flexible and mobile in and outside the office. My approach includes conducting an assessment to address postural issues that might affect the way a body moves. You and I will discuss any nagging pains such as lower back, shoulder or knees issues. Many times, with the right corrective exercises, I can help alleviate these issues. The workouts that I put together are never the same – I’m not going to bore you, but I will challenge you or your employees. My holistic wellness plans are fun and are designed to be part of a life-long journey.
Each day we lift, twist, lunge, pull, push, jump, squat and bend. Functional training includes movements to transfer the improvements in strength achieved to enhance the performance of another by affecting the neuromuscular system. For instance, performing squats can improve a client’s ability to get up from a chair than by using a leg extension machine. Training your body to move more efficiently means fewer injuries.
